Will
Fashion Cents Gents run on my
machine?
The minimum requirements for
Fashion Cents Gents are listed on the download page.
In Windows, if you want to see
if your machine qualifies, go to your desktop, right-click on My Computer,
and select Properties. The System Properties window should appear,
with the General tab selected by default. Listed in this tab are the
operating system version, CPU, and RAM. Compare these properties to
our minimum requirements to see if your machine meets the requirements.
How do I
install and run your game on Windows Vista?
When
you first launch the installer, the User Access Control may ask you
whether you want to Cancel or Allow the installation to proceed. Just
allow it to proceed.
How do I
install the full version of the game?
When you purchase Fashion
Cents Gents, you will be given a download link to the full version of the
game. The full version is separate from the trial version, and is
installed into a separate directory by default.
How do I
install the free add-ons?
The full version of Fashion
Cents Gents has a "Download Add-ons" button on the Choose
Options screen. When you click this button, the game will automatically
connect to our web site and check for new add-ons. It will then download
and install any add-ons that you don't already have. This button is only
available in the full version of the game.
Why
am I having errors when I try to install your program?
The usual cause of
this problem is that the file download was incomplete. Check
the size of the setup file against the size given on the download page to make sure they match.
Why does the game run so slow?
The
most frequent cause of this problem is that the machine is does not meet the
minimum system requirements for the game. Refer to the question above.
You should also update your video driver to ensure you are running with the latest
version. On Windows, you can do this through the Windows Update feature of your
operating system (usually found under the Start menu). You can also do
this by checking the video card manufacturer's web site.
How can
I fix the jerky animation?
The jerky animation when
clothing items fly off to the shopping bag could be
caused by a number of things. Run through this checklist and see if
any of these suggestions help.
-
Close or stop any programs
that may be running in the background, like your weekly virus scan, CD
or MP3 player, instant messaging program, BitTorrent client, etc.
-
If you are running in
Fullscreen mode
-
On Linux, try changing
your monitor refresh rate to a lower frequency
-
Try running in
Windowed mode - uncheck the Fullscreen box on the Choose Options screen
in Fashion Cents Gents)

Why don't I have any sound?
First, check the
volume settings on your computer. You should check both
the volume control in your operating system, as well as the volume
setting on your speakers (if any). Also, check to see that
playback has not been muted.
If
the volume levels are ok and the sound has not been muted, then check the
sound setting in the game. In the Choose Options screen, there are options for turning both sound and music on/off.
If you are using Linux, refer
to the README.txt file in the game's install directory for additional
audio troubleshooting steps. I've also included a list of known issues, as
well as workarounds for most of the problems.
If you are using Linspire as
your operating system, try running the game with the following command:
Why is the picture black, distorted, or otherwise messed up?
There
may be a problem with your video driver. You should update your video driver to ensure you are running with the latest
version. You can do this through the Windows Update feature of your
operating system (usually found under the Start menu). You can also do
this by checking the video card manufacturer's web site.
If
that doesn't help, then check your color setting. My games support 16-bit, 24-bit, and 32-bit color settings. If your current setting is causing problems, try another
setting. In Windows, you can do this by going to the Control Panel and selecting
Display. Go to the Settings tab and change the Colors setting to one
of the other settings that I support.
