Support - Registering
What is registration?
Registration
is the process of paying for software that is published as shareware.
All of my games are published as shareware, which means that you can
download the game and try it for free. When you play the game on a
trial basis, you see enough of the game to get an idea of what the game is
like, but you do not have access to all of the game's features and extras.
In order to play the
full version of the game, you must register it. When you register
your copy of the game, I will send you a registration e-mail
containing either a registration code or a download link to the full
version of the game. You then have unlimited access to all of the game's
features.
How do I register my software?
To
register your copy of a game, you must purchase it. Click here
if you have questions about purchasing one of my games.
Where do I enter my registration code?
Some of my older games (namely Word
Play and the old 2003 edition of Fashion Cents) required a registration code to unlock the full version of the game.
The new versions do not use registration codes; instead, I deliver
the full version as a separate download. If you are a previous
customer of one of these games and would like to upgrade, send me
an e-mail with your full name,
e-mail address, order number, and the name of the product. Once I verify your information,
I will resend your registration e-mail to you within 24 hours.
Can I use my registration code on more than one computer?
Yes.
Like I could stop you...
I buy software too, and I hate it when companies force
me to purchase
multiple copies of their products. My policy is one copy per
household. You can pay for it once and use it on all the computers you
own. But you're not allowed to share your registration codes with your
friends and neighbors - they have to purchase their own.
What do I do if I've lost my registration e-mail?
Send me an e-mail with your full name,
e-mail address, order number, and the name of the product. Once I verify your information,
I will resend your registration e-mail to you within 24 hours.
It
is best to print out your registration e-mail when you get it, just so you
have a copy somewhere that is not on your computer.
I've paid for my product, but you still haven't sent me my registration e-mail!
Normally my payment system
sends your registration e-mail as soon as your order is complete. If
you haven't received your game, you may want
to check your e-mail or spam filter (if you are using one) to see if the
registration e-mail was blocked or mistakenly classified as junk mail.
Usually, this is the primary reason our customers fail to receive
their registration e-mails... especially with AOL users.
If you checked your spam
filter and still haven't received your registration
e-mail, then please send me an e-mail
with your full
name, the e-mail address you ordered with, the product you purchased, and the
order number you were given at the time your purchased. If you have an
alternate e-mail or a telephone number, provide that as well (so that I have
some way to contact you if there's a problem).
Sometimes
a customer will provide an incorrect e-mail address, or their internet
service provider will block my e-mails. My first response is to
resend the e-mail. If the e-mail bounces, I will attempt to contact you
using the alternate e-mail address or telephone number you provided.
If you are an AOL user,
AOL has made many modifications
to their email systems and most are because of the recent problems with spam
or unwanted email and viruses. Although many of these changes have been
great improvements, they have also caused major problems for companies such
as My Game Company whose emails you have requested but are being blocked
because of AOL filtering systems.
Here is what you can do to
ensure you receive my e-mails. Go to the e-mail
filter and spam settings (click here
for a picture of what this screen looks like in AOL 9.0) and make the
following modifications:
-
Filtering
- In AOL 9.0, the graphics and links in all emails have been disabled
for your protection. Unfortunately, this setting will prevent you
from receiving many legitimate e-mails, including mine. To solve
this problem, uncheck the option to "Block mail containing pictures
or files".
-
Address book
- Add info@mygamecompany.com
to your AOL address book. This is the best way to avoid all of the
new blocking rules in AOL, and to ensure that you will receive my e-mails.
AOL
users who are not receiving their registration e-mails should update their
e-mail filter and spam settings, as noted above, and then contact me and request
me to resend
your registration e-mail.
