Privacy Policy

Introduction

My Game Company respects each individual's right to personal privacy. This privacy notice discloses our privacy practices. The privacy notice applies solely to information collected by this web site. It will notify you of the following:

1. What personally identifiable information is collected from you through the web site, how it is used and with whom it may be shared.

2. What choices are available to you regarding the use of your data.

3. The security procedures in place to protect the misuse of your information.

4. How you can correct any inaccuracies in the information.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via e-mail or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

Information is collected at the following points on our web site:

  • Orders. We request order information from you on our order form. To buy from us, you must provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and financial information (like credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we'll use this information to contact you. Sales for our games are handled by BMT Micro, a reputable e-commerce company that we have contracted to allow you to buy our products in a safe and secure manner; you can view BMT Micro's privacy policy here. Sales for other games that we list in our catalog are handled by the developer or distributor listed on each game's page; please refer to their web sites for their respective privacy policies.

  • Forum. We provide a forum to allow visitors to interact with us and other users. Forum membership is required in order to post messages or participate in polls and other community activities. To register for membership, you will need to specify a valid e-mail address; however, this will not leave you open to spam because you can choose to hide your e-mail address. You will also need to specify a username and password for your forum account, as well as your age (which we require in order to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) here in the United States). You can read more about this here.

  • Newsletter Signup. To sign up for our free monthly e-mail newsletter, as well as to receive special offers and announcements, you must provide your e-mail address. We use a company called Your Mailing List Provider to provide newsletter and mailing list services; you can view their privacy policy here. Customers are automatically added to our mailing list, so that they can receive notifications when game updates are available. If, at any time, you want to be completely removed from our mailing list, just let us know and we will be glad to do it.

  • E-mail. When you e-mail us using any of the e-mail addresses you find on our web site, you automatically share your own e-mail address with us, as well as any additional information you provide in your e-mail.

  • Surveys and Contests. From time-to-time our site requests information via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you may choose whether or not to participate and therefore disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information such as name and e-mail address. Contact information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site.

We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g. to process an order or e-mail you our monthly newsletter.

Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.

Your Access to and Control Over Information

You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the email address or phone number given on our website:

  • See what data we have about you, if any.

  • Change/correct any data we have about you.

  • Have us delete any data we have about you.

  • Express any concern you have about our use of your data.

Security

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.

Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser, or looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the web page.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

Cookies

We use "cookies" on this site. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor's hard drive. We use cookies in two areas on our site:

1. When you download a game from our catalog that we are selling through another developer or distributor, clicking the download link may generate a cookie that helps them track the fact that the referral came from My Game Company. Not all of them use cookies to track referrals, but some do. In those cases, the cookie is used to give us credit for the sale, so that we can earn a commission.

2. Our forum may use cookies to enhance your experience of the site, but the use of cookies is optional and is controlled by you in your forum account settings. Cookies are used to enable functions such as showing whether or not a discussion thread or forum you are viewing has new posts since your last visit, to automatically log you back in when you return to the site after being away for awhile, and so on. You can read more about this here.

In either case, usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information on our site.

Links

This web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of any other site that collects personally identifiable information.

If you feel that we are not abiding by this privacy policy, you should contact us immediately by sending an e-mail to us at info@mygamecompany.com.
