Ratings

While you wait for new releases from My Game Company, we do our best to provide you with great games made by other developers. We play through each game for at least the trial duration and assign a color-coded rating based on The Independent Game Rating System (TIGRS™). The rating is intended to notify you about any potentially objectionable content in a game.

Most games on our site have a green Family-friendly rating. This means that we have played it and believe it to be appropriate for both kids and adults alike. Unfortunately, we do not have time to play each game through from beginning to end. So if you have played a game and feel that our rating is not accurate, please report it to us.

We also carry some games that have a yellow Teen rating. These games are mostly family-friendly, except for very mild content. Before we carry any games with a Teen rating, we will play it thoroughly and, as part of the Teen rating, we will include a write-up that tells you why the game has a Teen rating and describes precisely what the issues are, so that parents can make an informed decision.

Some visitors looking for family-friendly games may wonder why we carry any games with a Teen rating. In the past, we have had some parents write to us looking for relatively clean games for their teens. They appreciate the family-friendly nature of our web site, but felt we lacked games that their teens would enjoy, such as 3D action games, fantasy role-playing games, and sports games. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of choices when it comes to finding clean computer games for teens, but we did find some games that are mostly family-friendly except for an occasional mild swear word or some very mild content. These games are relatively clean compared to a lot of the games teens are playing nowadays. Although parents probably wouldn't let their younger children play these games, they may feel those same games are acceptable for their teen. Because of this, we decided that we will carry some games with a Teen rating. We won't carry many such games, but if a game is of good quality, is something that would appeal to teens, and is mostly family-friendly with only very mild content, then we may choose to carry it. The rating system and the write-up that we provide will help parents decide for themselves.

Our primary focus is still family-friendly games, and will always remain so. The vast majority of games on our site will be 100% clean, as denoted by the green Family-friendly rating. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
