Hi, you can install and run the game on Windows 7. There are a few issues, though.

    1) The game was originally designed to install and look for add-ons in the install directory. Windows 7 does not allow this, and redirects the add-ons to a different directory. I think the game will still find the official add-ons, but the instructions in the fashion designer kit for installing fan-made add-ons won't work.

    2) The game is designed to save your game settings, profiles, and high scores to the game's install directory, but Windows 7 will redirect these files too. Again, the game will still work, but if different players in your home have their own user account in Windows, the high scores will be stored separately for each. There won't be one unified high score table.

I plan to address these issues in a forthcoming update, which will probably be available sometime next month.

I can answer this one. lol In order to make the Fashion Designer Kit work in Windows 7, you have to place the files in this folder:

    C:\users\*Your Name Here*\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Fashion Cents Deluxe\addons\

Why, oh, why they make it so complicated I will never know. However, there is a little more complication to this. The folder "AppData" (and only this one, but it makes the others hidden, too) is hidden. You have to unhide the hidden folder.

We too, but I found my way around pretty easily. I like it a lot. The only thing that bothers me is not being able to run 16 bit programs.

    Default fashionCents and windows 7....GRRRR

Thank you , Rogue. It was very nice of you to try and help. I tried to install where you told me to install. Unfortunately it did not work.
I received a Msg that it could not find that file.??
It could be me, I am 60. I can cook a great meal, but I am not good with computers.
Hopefully Troy will get to it soon, so window 7 and that install will work, and I can download some of the wonderful dress designs ect.
If you have any other Ideas, I am all ears.

If you have downloaded the new version 1.1, then you need to put them in the locations that I mentioned here:

    Hi troy,
It has to be me. I must be doing something wrong. the zip files throw me off in the first place.
None the less, I have tried to download the fashion cents delux designer kit. So that I can get the clothes made by members. It just doesn t work for me.
I was able to download V1.11, no problem, and it did download to the game. I am a moron, or it is because I am 60 yrs old, or something is not working correctly. Should I give up, you think?

Don't be too hard on yourself! We'll figure it out.

I e-mailed you a set of step-by-step instructions. I tried to put them here in the forum, but for some reason it won't let me post them. It gives me an error. The first time that happened, I lost everything I typed in.
