Can't stop playing Qwak!
I'm on vacation for a few days, so I had opportunity to play some games on my MacBook during the flight. One of my new favorites is Qwak, a cute coin-op style platformer.
Qwak is much more puzzle-oriented than Dirk Dashing. You've got to collect all the keys to unlock the exit, so you can advance to the next level. Part of the puzzle is figuring out how to navigate the level so that you can avoid the enemies and traps and escape with as many goodies as possible. Of course, there is a wide variety of useful power-ups to help you out.
One of the really neat features of this game, though, is the ability to play in two-player mode. In this mode, you and another person can play either cooperatively or competitively. So you can both work together to get past obstacles, or you can leave your buddy to tackle the obstacles alone while you run off and steal all the goodies. It makes for some very interesting gameplay!
I'm probably going to include a review of this game in our next newsletter, however, I am having so much fun with it that I just could not wait to tell you about it!
Qwak is available for Mac and Windows, and at this time is not available on any portal. We made arrangements directly with the developer so we could offer this game. I highly recommend it, because it is a lot of fun!
