You may have noticed Victoria hasn't been on the forums much lately. She's been busy with her polymer clay crafts - making beautiful jewelry pieces, cute little jewelry boxes, and such.

She made 3 pieces that she entered into the San Diego County Fair again this year. Last year she entered 2 pieces into the professional category, and both won first place ribbons. We've been waiting eagerly to hear if any of her new pieces won any awards. They're supposed to notify the award recipients by e-mail sometime this week. The fair starts this weekend, so she should be notified soon.

Anyway, we got one clue today. Victoria received a letter in the mail telling her that one of her pieces won the 2011 Award for Professional Excellence in Polymer Clay! So we know at least one of her pieces won a first place ribbon. We just don't know which one yet! I hope they e-mail us soon to tell us which one(s) won! Otherwise, we'll have to wait until next week when we go to the fair to see for ourselves...

Congratulations, Victoria! I'm so proud of you. You're so talented!

We took the day off yesterday and went to the San Diego County Fair. And we discovered that all 3 of Victoria's entries won ribbons!

Here is the butterfly shaped jewelry box that she did, which won first place in the "Professional Polymer Clay - Other" category and the donated award that I mentioned before:

This picture frame has polymer clay irises that Victoria made. It won second place in the same category:

And this matching necklace and earrings won 2nd place in the "Professional Polymer Clay - Jewelry" category:

By the way, on each of those pieces, it's all clay - there is no paint. I don't know how she does it, but it's amazing!

I'm so proud of you Victoria! Awesome job!
