Happy Easter! On this fine morning, I thought I would take a break from gaming-related posts and bring you up to date on our puppy.

We have a lot of new forum members, thanks to the release of the Fashion Designer Kit for Fashion Cents Deluxe, so many of you may not have seen my earlier blog posts announcing our new puppy. We got a new Yorkshire Terrier puppy in January, which we named "Pippin" after the hobbit in Lord of the Rings who kept getting into mischief. He has been keeping us very busy. We've been taking him to obedience classes, vet visits, park outings, etc, and these things have kept us from spending time on our game company projects for the past couple of months.

Anyway, Pippin is doing very well. Here are some recent pictures:

Pippin is up to 8.2 pounds now, and he is 5 months old. If you compare these photos to the ones I posted earlier, you can see his fur is changing from black to tan, with gray highlights on his head and back. He now has all his shots, and he's been to the groomer for his first puppy cut.

Pippin is definitely people-oriented, and wants to be around us all the time. But he is getting to the point where he will entertain himself for awhile. We installed one of those Invisible Fences in our backyard, and he has been trained to respect it. So he can run around free in the backyard on his own. Plus, we've installed a doggie door, which we trained him to use, so now he lets himself out to go pottie. As a result, he doesn't require constant supervision and monitoring, so we are able to get back to our game company projects for a few hours each day. This allowed us to release Dirk Dashing 1.05 earlier this month, and to finish up the Fashion Designer Kit. Now we're starting the design for our next game.

Pippin is a lot of fun, and we're sure glad to have him. But it is nice to be past the early training stages so we can once again spend some time doing the things we want to do. I must confess, it's really nice having him curled up at my feet or in my lap while I am working!
