I'm not sure what happened, but apparently something on the forum is broken. My inbox has been flooded with error messages from the forum all day. Most of the error messages involve the search capability, but I've also had a couple of e-mails from users who have been unable to create new accounts.
I'm going to have to take the forum offline to fix the problem. But before that, I'm going to have to do some reading to figure out what to do. So I'll leave the forum up for now.
