I have a reputation among my family and friends when it comes to my work habits. When the end of a project is in sight, I'll push myself really hard to get the job done. Then I crash on the other side, and usually spend several weeks recovering.
Yeah, you guessed it - it happened again with Rick Rocket. I endured several months of concentrated effort (especially during January), with only a break for Christmas, and I finished the game by the end of January (at least, the Mac and Windows versions). Then my stamina gave out and I crashed. I spent most of February trying to recover from a chest cold, and I've been very tired.
Even so, the business continues, and I did not have much time to rest. Whenever we release a new game, we always have e-mails to respond to - from interested parties who want to review the game or acquire rights to sell/distribute it, to support requests from customers who are having trouble with the game on their particular computer system, to people who have general questions about it. And in the case of Rick Rocket, we still had the Linux version to finish. But I've kept up with all of that, and I still have a couple of issues to fix for particular customers. But now I'm really exhausted and I need a break.
I'll still be around to respond to e-mails. And thanks to Victoria, who continues to search for new family-friendly games and continues to test them to ensure they are clean and kid-safe, we will still be adding new games to our site. But I'm going to take some time off to recuperate.
Enjoy Rick Rocket and our other games, and when I return later this month, we'll have some new things in store for you - like some new add-ons for Fashion Cents Deluxe, and a minor update for Rick Rocket with some additional bug fixes. Stay tuned!
