Eden's
Quest is a puzzle game, cleverly disguised as a point-and-click
adventure game!
You
play Eden Hunt, a famous archaeologist (at least that's the
impression you get from the magazines displayed on her desk), who
receives a mysterious telephone call accompanied by a strange
envelope in the mail. The unidentified stranger invites you to an
isolated island to participate in a challenging treasure hunt.
Naturally, you accept (otherwise, there would be no game to play).

Once
on the island, you discover that you're not alone. Other treasure
hunters have also been invited, so the race is on to be the first
to find the coveted treasure of Akua. The story is light-hearted
and entertaining, and provides an enjoyable backdrop to the real
focus of the game: the puzzles.
In
order to find the treasure, you must solve a series of puzzles.
Lots of puzzles. The variety of puzzles in the game is amazing.
There are logic puzzles, math problems, memory games, word
puzzles, mazes, hidden object scenes, slider puzzles, jigsaw
puzzles, and more! It reminds me of some of the jumbo puzzle
magazines my parents used to get for me as a kid. Some of the
problems are fairly simple, while others really force you to
think. Thankfully, the game has a hint system built in that lets
you purchase hints using coins that you earn throughout the game.
Try to solve the puzzle correctly on the first try, though,
because subsequent tries aren't worth as many points. And you must
earn a certain number of points in order to advance to new areas
of the island.

The
visuals in this game are gorgeous! The background graphics have a
beautiful oil-painting look to them, and the characters are very
diverse and wonderfully drawn. The high-quality production values
really make the game shine!
If
you're looking for a good puzzle game that is not a match-3, I
highly recommend this.
Eden's
Quest
is available for Mac and Windows for $6.99 USD.
