Our Review

This is a cross between an adventure game (in which you explore, talk to other characters, and perform quests) and a strategy/sim game (in which you slowly build your fleet, conquer enemies, and strengthen your business). You can choose from one of several characters to start with, and there are many ships and items you can choose to buy as you grow your business. This provides a lot of replay value. We rated the game family-friendly, but be aware that some of the characters you can choose from are rather shady. We played through the demo as Nandj, a trader who starts the game with a hasty departure from a gambling house and a reputation as an unscrupulous character. Other than the mention of gambling in the back story, the gameplay contains no actual gambling. Also, the battle scenes show ships being damaged, but no deaths or bloodshed. So the game appears to be clean. Overall it is a fun game that we recommend trying if you enjoy adventure or strategy/sim games!
