Revenge
of the Titans is the sequel to Titan
Attacks, the greatest Space Invaders tribute ever! (If you've
never played it, you have no idea what you're missing!) Anyway,
the new sequel is nothing like Space Invaders. This time the enemy
is attacking by land. If you've seen the snow battles in The
Empire Strikes Back, then you should have a pretty good idea of
what this game is like. Your goal in this game is to protect your
base from the marching hordes by building defenses and laying
traps. You can even send forth your own droid army to battle the
invaders! The game provides a wide variety of enemy types, weapons
and units you can build, etc. One thing we really like is the huge
technology tree you can research, which gives you access to new
units and improved systems. The technology tree is huge, which
should add a lot of replayability since you can't possibly
research everything in a single game. And, of course, the game
features the signature style of cool retro graphics that all of
this developer's games have!
We gave
the game a Teen rating due to some minor language that occurs occasionally
during the game briefings. The cartoon general who briefs your
missions uses some colorful words once in awhile. The level of
violence in this game is minimal, consisting mainly of satisfying
explosions as enemies are destroyed. There is no blood or gore. One
last thing to note: this is the BETA version. So it isn't
finished yet, but it is very playable. The developer released this
beta so you can decide whether to pre-order. Pre-ordering lets you
save 50% off the final price, and gives you instant access to new
content (worlds and weapons) as they are completed. Help support our fellow
indie developer by pre-ordering Revenge of the Titans today! |
