My Review

This game is more than just a soccer game. It's really a focused simulation game where you play the life of a (hopefully) rising soccer star. There's really two parts to this game: the part where you actually get to play in soccer games, and the sim part where you manage all the aspects of your soccer life, including your training, your fans, and your social life. The better you manage your social life, the better your performance on the field. I strongly recommend going through some training first before playing in your first match, so that you can figure out the game controls and get some practice. Also, it can be a little challenging since you only control your one player, not the whole team.

The soccer part of the game is family-friendly, but there are a couple of items in the sim part of the game that earned it a Teen rating. First, the game allows you to gamble with your virtual money via an in-game casino and horse racing track. In the casino, you can play blackjack, roulette, or slots. These little mini-games are a nice diversion and allow you to relax your fingers between soccer matches; however, some parents may object to the gambling aspect of the game, even if it is with virtual money. Second, the game allows you to buy virtual performance enhancers and alcohol for your player. To the developer's credit, the effects of these substances is what you would expect in real life, and your player may have to spend time in rehab or suffer consequences for taking performance enhancers. Still, parents will want to check out this game for themselves to decide if it is appropriate for their children.
