Kudos 2 is the life-simulation strategy game that puts you in control of a single character and manages their life from age 20 to 30. You get to pick their friends, their job, and how they spend their free time, but there is a catch: you can only choose to do one thing each day (or two on the weekends). This makes every game of Kudos unique. Will you become a wealthy corporate lawyer, or a popular guitar player that works as a waitress to pay the bills? Will you have the money to purchase a burglar alarm, or learn martial arts (or buy a dog) to protect yourself from crime? The choice is yours!

My Review

If you enjoy games like 'The Sims", then you'll love Kudos 2! It's a similar game but done in a completely original way. In fact, if you've played Sims Social on MySpace, you'll notice this is very similar. That's because EA, who developed Sims Social, licensed the concept from Positech Games - the makers of Kudos 2! The game allows you to customize your character's appearance before you begin, and then starts you off in a minimum wage job. At this point, you can start to guide the development of your character. The number of choices in this game is amazing! You can choose to take any one of a number of classes to shape your career. You can choose what to eat, how much you'll exercise (or none at all), how you'll get to work, how you'll spend the money you earn, etc. You can choose which friends to hang out with and participate in a wide variety of activities - from restaurants to entertainment to shopping and more! All of your choices will affect the overall well-being of your character, as it is represented by various health meters like happiness, confidence, honesty, weight, energy, cleanliness, and more.

Overall the game itself is family-friendly, but I rated it Teen due to some of the choices available to your character. You can choose to drink alcohol when you go out with your friends, and one of the health meters that you manage is "sobriety". Also, one of the social activities that you can choose is to go to the casino and gamble the virtual money that you earn. Fortunately, the game does not protect the player from the consequences of poor choices. The game will let you lose all your money in the casino, for example, which means you won't have money for other things you want or need to do. So, in a way, this game can be somewhat educational.

If you enjoy life simulation games but you're looking for something new, give Kudos 2 a try!
