Eternal Eden tells the story of three children living in paradise. Their world is a genuine utopia where nobody ages, nobody dies, and nobody wants for anything. Everything is provided for them, with one condition: they must not eat from the forbidden tree. Unfortunately, the children give in to temptation and they are thrown into a parallel world of darkness. Can they survive to see paradise again?

My Review

Eternal Eden is a Japanese style RPG (role-playing game) from independent developer Blossomsoft. Its story borrows from Biblical themes and ideas, and as a result, it tells a more of a human saga of redemption and self-discovery than other RPGs that typically focus on saving the world from an evil force or disaster. As with other indie RPGs, the writing in this game is good, and the characters are loaded with personality. The artwork uses bright colors and glossy anime-style characters and objects, which reminds one of classic RPGs from the Super Nintendo era. This is easily one of the better-looking indie RPGs around. The dungeons contain lots of classic-style puzzles too, and of course, lots of hidden areas and items. The game itself is fairly clean, but we rated it Teen due to some mild language in the character dialogue.
