Our Review
Amanda Fitch (also known as Amanda
Fae) is a very talented game
designer who started out as with a college degree in English. As she tells it,
she got a job as a writer, was really bored with it, and decided to try to
make a computer game. Ahriman's Prophecy was Amanda's first game, and it was
so popular and well-received that Amanda decided to go into game development
full-time. She went on to found Amaranth Games and is well-known as the
creator of the Aveyond series of games. Ahriman's
Prophecy, like all of Amanda's games, is well-written and offers a deep and
engaging story. And it is the story that really makes the game shine. From a
visual standpoint, you can tell this is her first game - the game's resolution
isn't as good as her later titles, and the art and sounds are dated. But when
you consider that this is a free game that was made with a non-existent
budget, you can overlook these details because the story is so well done. And
you can't beat the cost! The game itself is pretty family-friendly for a RPG
(role-playing game), but we rated it Teen due to some mild violence - whenever
you kill a monster, there will be a small pool of blood beneath its body.
