May 2011 Newsletter

Dear customers and fans,

I recently remembered an add-on for the old Windows-only version of Fashion Cents that I never updated for Fashion Cents Deluxe.

Some of you may remember the contests we once held to help name the add-on packs. Contestants submitted their suggestions for the add-on pack name, and we chose the name we liked best. The grand prize for the winner was an exclusive add-on for Fashion Cents: a set of swimsuits! Only a handful of lucky contest winners ever got to play with those add-ons... until now!

That's right! Just in time for summer, I've updated the old swimsuits for the Deluxe version of Fashion Cents, and they're now available for everyone!

The swimsuits show up infrequently, so I also drew a whimsical new beach hat and a halter top that goes along with the Hawaiian clothes from the Tropic Gal add-on pack. Here's a sample of the new clothes:

Customers who have purchased Fashion Cents Deluxe may now download these free add-ons from the in-game menu. Enjoy!

Fashion Cents Sale

I've decided to extend the sale for Fashion Cents Deluxe and Fashion Cents Gents for awhile. I put them on sale at 50% off for Easter as a kind of pricing experiment, but the sale didn't last long enough for me to collect any useful data and draw any meaningful conclusions. So the sale will go on for awhile longer. I don't have a specific end date in mind yet, but when I do, I'll post it on the forum.

In the meantime, both games are marked down by 50%. So tell your friends to take advantage of this special discount!

Dirk Dashing 2 Production Update

Jesse Hopkins has been officially hired to compose the music soundtrack for Dirk Dashing 2! We signed the contract last week. Jesse produced some awesome music for The Adventures of Rick Rocket, which really added to the game and made it feel like a big Hollywood production. I'm pleased to be working with him again on this new project, and I look forward to seeing what he comes up with.

I finished building 3 more levels last month. It would have been 4, but I've really struggled with the design for what should be a very simple level. I've decided to skip it for now and move on. I'll come back to it later when inspiration strikes.

Here's a screenshot from one of the levels I built last month, showing off some of the new background art:
