Our web site has been decorated for
Christmas, and we’re featuring several of our favorite Christmas games
on our home page for the next few weeks!
We
know that not everyone celebrates Christmas, and we don’t mean to
offend anyone who doesn’t. But our family does celebrate Christmas.
It’s a tradition that both Victoria and I grew up with and one that
we have fond memories of. We enjoy the season, the stories, the music,
and the sights and sounds of Christmas. Most importantly, we love this
time of year because it reminds us of the birth of our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ, whom we love. If you celebrate something else at this
time of the year, then that’s ok. We respect that, and we hope you’ll
respect us in return.
Merry
Christmas, and Happy Holidays!

Game Reviews
Santa's
Super Friends (Mac and Windows) - $6.99 USD
Find out who Mr. Stink is and why he would steal all the toys right before
Christmas! As you make your way from Candy Cane Cove to Santa's Workshop
you'll meet some Super Friends along the way, like Edmund the Elf and
Gingerbread Jr., who will give you information about Mr. Stink to help you
get the toys back! With 60 progressively harder levels of play, 3 skill
levels to choose from and even your very own Christmas Tree ornaments to
collect, you'll be instantly hooked!

Victoria’s
review: In this cute Christmas game, on each level you have to build a
certain number of toys from parts that come down the assembly line. You
get right and left arms, right and left legs, body, and head. You must
assemble the toys by color. Every few levels or so, they switch toys, so
in some levels you’re building monkeys, and other levels you’re
building robots, dinosaurs, etc. There are also ornaments you can assemble
for your Christmas tree, and special power-up pieces that come down the
line. While you’re building toys, Santa’s elves will come into the
factory requesting a certain color toy. But if you don’t build the toy
they want in a certain amount of time, the elf goes away sad. So this game
is a color and parts matching game as well as a time management game.
Though it is a simple concept, each level becomes a little more
challenging as the speed picks up and they increase the number of assembly
lines and toy colors. It’s a cute game, with a variety of Christmas
music throughout.
Christmasville
(Mac and Windows) - $6.99 USD
Santa Claus is missing! You, the great Private Detective Arthur Knight,
have been summoned to Christmasville to help! (Well, kidnapped actually,
but it just depends on how you look at it!) Once you decide to stay,
you'll meet many amazing creatures in Christmasville, like the Abominable
Snowman, Reindeer, and even the mysterious Ear. They will help you
discover the truth behind Santa's disappearance, before it's too late!
It's one hilarious seek and find adventure with Christmasville!

Troy’s
review: This is a fun hidden object game with an amusing story and
colorful graphics. Experienced gamers may find this game too easy, but it
is perfect for kids who are old enough to read and are able to recognize
fairly common items. The game itself is a bit short, but at this price, it
makes a great "stocking stuffer"!
Grappling
Hook (Mac, Windows, and Linux) - $14.95 USD
Escape your captors in this innovative first-person action puzzle/platform
game! Use the high-tech Grappling Hook tool to overcome various
challenging obstacles by performing incredible moves and fast combinations
of daring tricks. The dynamic and surprising levels open opportunities to
use the Grappling Hook in unique ways never seen before in a game. Making
your way through the levels requires both skill and creativity, while the
increasing difficulty pushes you to become a real master of the Grappling
Hook.

Troy’s
review: This is really the first 3D game that I have seen in a long time
that really takes advantage of the 3D environment. Most 3D games are
pretty mindless and repetitive, where you just go through a pretty
environment and shoot stuff. But I love the fact that you have to think
your way through this game. The story is pretty basic: you’ve been
abducted by a mysterious captor and forced to participate in a series of
experiments. With the help of the high-tech Grappling Hook, you’ll make
your way through a series of challenging 3D levels. The game is
non-violent, but that doesn’t detract from the experience. If you’re
looking for a good clean game for your teenage boy for Christmas, this is
a good one!
